🧑💻 Most people wouldn’t spend eight years alone in a study building an interactive 3D digital twin of the UK with Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and semantic web infrastructure.

💪 I did.

🎯 Because I saw what was coming.

🌙 For six years, GeoAR.it was my after-hours obsession—thousands of lines of code written on weekends, evenings, and through countless late nights. In 2023, I finally took the leap. I left Whistl, took 12 months out to travel, reflect, and reset—then came back with a clear mission and a clean focus.

🥲 I nearly gave up—especially the night I thought I’d lost over 11,000 lines of Unity source. But I didn’t. Because this platform means something.

📆 In 2017, while still working full-time at Spark Response, I began developing what would become GeoAR.it—a platform that merges emotional intelligence with location intelligence to deliver personalised, place-based insights at a hyperlocal level.

🧑💻 My journey started much earlier—not just in tech, but in life. I had a challenging childhood, and that experience left something permanent in me: a deep, inbuilt need to help others. That mission has carried through everything I’ve done—from writing code to building teams, and now, to creating a platform designed not just to inform, but to care.

GeoAR.it isn’t just another map—it’s a 3D, AR-driven digital twin of the UK, covering roads, buildings, bus stops, and POIs, powered by an open, semantic MetARverse® URI system.
What truly sets it apart is its human-first philosophy: MetARverse URIs are open, AI-readable identifiers for emotions, memories, and events. There’s an AI-powered emotional mapping layer that adapts to mood, memory, and real-time context.
Live data flows in—crime, house prices, festivals and more—enriching the experience, while immersive user modes like Drone View and Dolly View offer new ways to explore.

But let’s be clear—I didn’t build this platform to impress anyone. I built it because technology should serve people, not distract or exploit them.
For eight years, I coded this project from scratch, often alone at 4am, because the digital world can—and must—do better. GeoAR.it is indie, purposeful, and personal: a tool that doesn’t just know where you are, but what matters to you. It’s built to support you in real life, right here, right now.

🚫 No VC's. No Team. No Budget. Just Relentless Vision.

This wasn’t funded by a VC. It wasn’t a hackathon toy. It was one man, a lifetime of full-stack dev experience, and a calling.

• 📱 Facebook chasing AR with no soul.

🇬🇧 I was originally going to make GeoAR.it a worldwide platform. Then I decided to focus on the UK. Now, I’m concentrating on starting out as a North East platform, building for my fellow Geordies first. It's going to be a platform built for the people. Like Saltwell park. A place I spent most of my younger days in getting chased by the parkies (divin't tell the coppers). The old Geo AI Genie references will be replaced with Geordie Genie references and the Genies graphics will change.

💪 My fellow Geordies will give me tough love when things don’t stack up, but they’ll also buy me a ton of Steak Bakes if I get things right. That’s real local support, us Geordies stick together like that. Who knows, maybe the Geordie Genie will even end up with a job at Greggs in quality control 🙏.
